Looking to understand the benefits of becoming a member of the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce? You're at the right spot! Below is a list of some of our most prominent services, offerings, and benefits of becoming a Member small business.
PERK #1: USSB-Certification
Membership to the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce confers USSB-Certification to that company. This establishes your firm as a verified small business enterprise and confirms its genuine operations to all outside entities -- generally, for the purposes of our Member companies, this is most prominent for large corporations (particularly, Top 100 Contractors), local and state government agencies, and colleges, universities, & other research facilities. Federal government agencies can also find added assurance of knowing a company is a small business enterprise in that moment; other registrations such as sam.gov, while fully valid and important, can sometimes allow grace periods of nearly a year where entities not actually small businesses any longer (i.e., through growth, through acquisition, etc.). USSB-Certification is able to be updated to the very day for maximum certainty.
Additionally, USSB-Certification breaks down and confirms further certifications and designations such as set-asides (differentiating between self-established and officially-verified) and industry certifications and standards.
PERK #2: Access to Thousands of Open and Active Solicitations
There are many project and contract opportunity portals -- the most notable for federal government contracting obviously being sam.gov. The US Small Business Chamber of Commerce has spent years building a network and coalition for the benefit of small businesses across the United States; we have been able to accumulate a wide-range of entities -- most notably, large corporations, but also local & state governments and colleges & universities -- that are just as much in need to fulfill various requirements and just as eager to work with small businesses, particularly those within their local market area.
We have consolidated and summarized hundreds of opportunities into initial requests for information solicitations so small businesses can more easily digest the various opportunities into consistent formats and respond accordingly with their capabilities as an introduction. Large corporations and the other purchasing entities appreciate the buffer the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce provides to their purchasing agents so as to not get inundated with unwanted or irrelevant responses.
PERK #3: Unlimited, Weekly Case Study Press Releases
Member small businesses can publish case studies, press releases, project history, and award history through us that goes out to a massive network we've built over the course of three decades. Submissions are vetted, polished, and set out to individuals that we refer to as our "Conduit Members." These are NOT employees of ours but are, generally, government officials (notably, small business program managers for various agencies) and employees of some of the largest prime contractors (typically, small business liaison officers). These conduit members, then, send the published articles out to their networks through email, social media, etc. Each article generally goes out to around 15,000-20,000 high-end individuals: buyers, contracting officers, subcontract administrators, program managers, VPs, CEOs, etc. In essence, the articles are coming from those trusted officials -- potentially, colleagues or even bosses -- of those very high-end target individuals. We call it "pre-arranged, word-of-mouth, viral distribution," and the process -- especially when targeted to a specific opportunity -- can be thoroughly effective. Members of the Chamber can publish one article/case study/press release/etc. per week, with upwards of 52 publications in an entire year.
Please note: due to the means of our distribution channel, while the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce (like all Chambers of Commerce) is not a government agency, we become bound by government regulation in terms of what we can publish. We, thus, CANNOT (and will not) publish advertisements or general capabilities for company -- or just general information concerning your industry as we will require the article to pertain specifically to the Member company. Instead, we publish case studies, project history, award history, transactions, and achieving milestones like set-asides and industry certifications.
PERK #4: Limited Staffing Support
Small businesses tend to get the short end when it comes to recruiting talent. Everything is stacked against them as they don't have the name recognition to just have people apply directly to them, and they don't have the resources to spend thousands of dollars on a job site or professional recruiter. While the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce would still recommend pursuing those avenues if your company has the resources, for those looking for a more affordable option, we provide distribution channels to get your job posting out there.
With access to a network of thousands upon thousands of job-seekers in an array of industries, we can get the the job opportunity to not just numerous individuals, but the proper individuals based on the industry and market area. We don't do background screenings or resume processing, but we can, generally, increase the resumes your company receives.
