JPB Landscaping, LLC -- a veteran-owned, Pennsylvania-based landscaping expert -- took what started as a bare patch of land and turned it into a fully integrated outdoor retreat through a multi-phase transformation.
It began with a raised composite deck, positioned to take in the full view of the yard. Wide, custom-built steps now lead down from the deck to a paver patio that sits just below—designed as the transition point between the home and the rest of the backyard.
From the patio, the eye is immediately drawn to a newly installed in-ground pool, framed by clean retaining walls that shape the space and manage the natural grade. A curved stone bench wraps around a wood-burning fireplace at the far end of the pool—a centerpiece that brings warmth and year-round use to the area.
Beneath the surface, a lot of unseen work took place: trenching for electrical lines, drainage piping to handle runoff, and plumbing to support the pool and surrounding features. Careful grading ensured that water moved away from structures, protecting the investment for years to come.
The final layer was the landscape. Flowering perennials soften the stonework, while ornamental grasses and low-maintenance shrubs fill the borders. Along the property line, a row of tall-growing trees was planted to form a living privacy screen—one that will grow thicker and more secluded with time.
From top to bottom—deck, patio, pool, and fire feature—each element was built in sequence to create a seamless, livable space. What was once empty is now a private, multi-level backyard built for both quiet mornings and lively evenings.
