The Horizon Interactive Awards has recognized d’Vinci Interactive and the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board (PACLE) for its implicit bias and bystander training for the legal profession. The training course captured a Gold Award for Training/eLearning websites.
The course is a facilitator-led program made available through accredited providers across Pennsylvania. Facilitators use video vignettes and audience polling technology to guide the program and prompt meaningful group discussions to teach the content.
d’Vinci created four video scenarios that featured six professional actors captured during a two-day on-location shoot. A technical-focused guide, a facilitator guide, and audience handouts accompany this program as supporting materials.
“We believe that this program is a significant step towards our commitment to improving diversity, inclusion, and awareness as necessary components to performing in the legal profession of today,” she added.
The program underlines the importance for those in the legal profession to intervene when they observe implicit bias. The learning objectives equip learners with an ability to recognize biases and microaggressions, but also tactics to address this type of behavior when they see it.
