Adanta, Inc., a Woman-owned 8(a) Environmental Consulting Firm, wins contract to Clean USTs in California for USEPA

Adanta, Inc. has been awarded a $104,000 contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers through an Interagency Agreement with US EPA. As part of Cooperative Agreement LS99T10301 between USEPA Region 9 and the California State Water Resources Control Board abandoned underground storage tanks (USTs) have been identified throughout California. USEPA has identified a subset of nine such sites in the southern Central Valley for this project award. In order to reduce the potential impacts that the USTs at these facilities might have on the local environment, US EPA has requested that the liquids from the USTs be pumped from the tanks and removed from each site for proper reuse and/or recycling, the fill ports will then be plugged and capped so that the tanks are rendered unusable.
John Guenza, an Adanta Senior Project Manager says, "I am really looking forward to starting this project. There are hundreds of sites like these in California, many of them are likely contaminating groundwater. The USEPA is doing something concrete to protect our groundwater resources, and I am very grateful."
