   BENEFIT #1: department of publications

Every member of the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce gains access to the services of the Department of Publications. You can go to the main page of the Department for more information, but the basic details are in gaining a versatile, targeted marketing source for your business. We do not offer straight advertising at this time, but we do offer free press releases to all members of the Chamber. Press releases can include topics such a project history (our main focus), major awards, accomplishments, major shifts in your company's offerings, and significant events for your company.

Each press release is then distributed out to various officials -- frequently small business program managers and small business liaison officers for various major entities and organizations (often times officials from Mentor organizations) -- who then disperse it out to their own networks through social media and email. Each release is seen by thousands upon thousands of high quality decision makers including contracting officers, subcontract administrators, program managers, vice presidents, CEOs, and senior buyers. It is a system we call pre-arranged, word-of-mouth, viral distribution, and it is exceedingly effective in presenting credibility and visibility at a quick pace.

   BENEFIT #2: department of acquisitions

Every member of the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce gains access to the services of the Department of Acquisitions. You can go to the main page of the Department for more information, but in brief, it is likely what draws most small businesses to the Chamber in the first place. The Chamber works with various "Other Than Small Business" (OTSB) entities that it refers to as "Mentors." Mentors include large corporations -- particularly large government contractors, government agencies, and universities and institutions. Mentors utilize the Chamber to solicit goods and services from small businesses.

Many of these solicitations begin in the form of "Sources Sought" or "Requests for Information (RFI)," but typically do then delve more in details from select companies that respond to the initial solicitation. Most opportunities are posted directly on our portal for all small businesses to view, but the Chamber does sometimes speed up the process by actively targeted select companies with bidding information.

Some of the opportunities we post can be found elsewhere (FBO, subNET, etc.), but a large chunk are exclusive to the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce, and they are excellent way to access projects and orders ordinarily not known about.

BENEFIT #3: department of human resources

Every member of the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce gains access to the services of the Department of Human Resources. You can go to the main page of the Department for more information, but succinctly put, it is a recruiting tool built specifically with small business in mind. Many job posting portals can be fairly pricey (often $400 for a single, month-long listing) which can add up quickly in cost, and is a more passive approach that delivers many unqualified or irrelevant applications. On the other hand, recruiters, while taking a more active role, can cost thousands of dollars a hire. While spending money on the perfect employee match is one of most worthwhile investments a company can make, for many small businesses, it just is not in the cards.

The Department of Human Resources combines the large net of a job posting site with the active pursuit of a recruiter for a nice middle ground. Companies can search through listings of skilled individuals looking for work (many of them former government workers -- notably military personnel transitioning into civilian life). Any company, not just Chamber members, can access this pool of potential recruits. However, members can request parameters for the Chamber to search and find qualified candidates.

   BENEFIT #4: department of trade

Every member of the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce gains access to the services of the Department of Trade. You can go to the main page of the Department for more information, but the basic details are that it is a massive eCommerce specifically catering to small businesses to sell a wide-range of products. Unlike some portals like Amazon or eBay, the Department of Trade focuses heavily on business-to-business (or business-to-government) selling -- emphasizing bulk purchases or somewhat unusual items; however, anyone can utilize the eShop for purchasing.

Understanding the various market areas of small businesses, the Department's eShop allows for customized item searches based on location, and by 2019, the Chamber hopes to be able to provide delivery services in select urban areas across the nation.

   BENEFIT #5: department of registration

Every member of the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce gains access to the services of the Department of Registration. You can go to the main page of the Department for more information, but the concept is fairly straight-forward. As small businesses grow, they almost certainly will find themselves required to get various registrations and certifications -- be it government registries or industry-standard certifications.

Many of these processes can be difficult, tedious, and often overwhelming. Along with providing free consultation and step-by-step training on some of the registrations out there, we can also provide connections to trusted consultation sources -- some of which are free as well.

   BENEFIT #6: department of training

Every member of the US Small Business Chamber of Commerce gains access to the services of the Department of Training. You can go to the main page of the Department for more information; however, in short, the Department of Training specializes in educational programs for small businesses in a variety of fields and industries. While many of these are online programs (with some being straight, accredited courses), there are also some opportunities for in-person conferences and symposiums.

Utilizing our Mentors and several of our training and educational members, we can provide comprehensive knowledge on almost any topic -- sometimes for free, and sometimes at highly reduced costs. If knowledge is power, this Department may be the most powerful tool for your business.
