Adanta, Inc., a Woman-owned, 8(a) Environmental Consulting Firm fills Data Gaps at an NPL Site

Adanta, Inc. has been awarded contract W912P7-15-D-0002-0002 with a value of $393,222.16 through the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Albuquerque District to fill in data gaps from previous environmental assessments at the Lorentz Barrel and Drum National Priority List (NPL) site in San Jose, California. The site has been listed on NPL since 1988, and has had numerous environmental assessments and remediation projects to date. There are two remaining primary contaminants of concern (COCs) in groundwater. This project will better define contaminant plumes in a shallow and deeper aquifer. Contaminant plumes could potentially be migrating under the football stadium of an adjacent university. This project will also assess possible contamination by PCBs in near-surface soil.

Following this data gaps assessment, it is likely that remediation will occur using electro kinetics (EK). "The project has a lot of moving parts," says Nick Patz, Adanta Project Manager. "Assessment is complicated by two groundwater plumes, roadways, surface water, and utility corridors. Establishing pathways will be critical to our success with this project."
