Speer Operational Technologies Secures an IDC with the Army

Earlier this year, the small service-disabled, veteran own company Speer Operational Technologies (SpeerOpTech) secured an indefinite contract with the Army for its telemedicine kits. The IDC was initially valued at $150,000, and has already been utilized for $45,768.00 worth of the med kits.

The kits are manufactured and completely packaged by SpeerOpTech, and provide a customized care link between the medical provider and the remote patient. The kits include advanced wound care, injections, antibiotics, eye meds, and even a dental kit among other things. These kits allow for proper intermediary care for military patients too distant from traditional care, and provide an unprecedented capability for treatment of injuries and illness in austere and remote areas.

"It's important when some of our people are out in the field -- especially in combat situations. There's the obvious issue of combat casualties, but even on more everyday medical emergencies, it's invaluable," relates Chris Crossley, Government Program Manager for SpeerOpTech.

Speer Operational Technologies, a relatively small operation, has been expanding greatly these last couple years. Since gaining a GSA schedule contract through the assistance of Government Marketplace, LLC, LLC, SpeerOpTech has been gaining government customers -- including the military, the Marshals, and even the Park Service -- and expanding its offerings by becoming a distributor of bigger name companies like Tyr Tactical.
