Aegis BMD Security Group COGAR Wins Excellence Award

The Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense security group, COGAR, was recently awarded its corporate headquarters' highest award for what was termed "exceptional service."

The COGAR Center of Excellence Award is presented annually to a security operations center or installation that is contracted by COGAR in the National Capital Region. It is awarded for providing customers with outstanding security services by demonstrating high standards of achievement and meeting expectations for efficiency and service, based on customer feedback.

Selection of the COGAR award is based upon a multi-phased process, according to COGAR requirements, that is performed over the course of a year. The process involves evaluation, audit of performance in the area of client satisfaction, security officer training, leadership and work environment feedback.

"It is an outstanding accomplishment that the Dahlgren site was selected out of all of COGAR's government contract sites," said Capt. Tom Halvorson, Chief of Staff for Aegis BMD at Naval Support Facility Dahlgren.

"To our highly-motivated and dedicated professionals in the Security Operations Center: congratulations and Bravo Zulu on a job well done!" he said.
